Dubai is a part of the seven emirates (states) that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Through my research I have noticed that there are two major misconceptions: the first misconception being that Dubai is its own country, and the second misconception being that Dubai is a part of India. I can understand the first misconception because Dubai can very well be mistaken for being its own country; it has a scale of its own! However, I am still trying to figure out the Indian connection other than the fact that there is large South Asian population residing in the UAE.
To clear the misconception that Dubai is very much not a part of India. As shown in the two maps above, the UAE is bordered by Saudi Arabia, Oman, the Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman. See, very much so in the Middle East and India is about a sea away.
